3Di Connectivity

Products in the 3Di platform are usually deployed as part of an imaging network. To enable connections with other components on the network, 3Di implements several communication protocols. Most of these protocols are part of the DICOM standard, which is increasingly being used as the standard communication method for integrating medical devices and image management systems.

3Di Workstation

• Supports connections to multiple DICOM devices (modalities) and/or PACS
• Supports query/retrieve as an application user
• Supports storage as an application provider

3Di Workstation receives imaging data from various DICOM modalities (e.g., CT and MR) by configuring the modality to "push" (store) studies to the workstation, or by querying the DICOM device (modality or PACS) to retrieve ("pull") selected studies from the device.

The connections also enable 3Di Workstation to send the following data to devices supporting the DICOM "store" operation (e.g., PACS): imaging information (including original study images), processed images and reports.

3Di Workstation also supports a proprietary Web-services connection to 3Di PACS and 3Di Cloud servers.

• These type of connections allow 3Di Workstation to query, view and retrieve imaging data from 3Di servers.
• These connections also enable 3Di Workstation to store the following data to 3Di servers: imaging information (including original study images, which may have been originally received from configured DICOM modalities), processed images and reports.

3Di PACS (Server) and 3Di Cloud (Uploader)

3Di PACS (Server) and 3Di Cloud (Uploader) each support connections to multiple DICOM devices (modalities) and/or PACS.

• Support storage as an application provider
• Support query/retrieve as an application provider

These connections allow the 3Di components to receive imaging data from various DICOM devices (e.g., modalities, PACS) by configuring the devices to "push" (store) studies to the 3Di component. They also allow DICOM devices to query and retrieve imaging data from the 3Di components.
